Perched on a hillside overlooking the majestic Bucegi Mountains, Cantacuzino Castle is one of Romania’s hidden gems. Built in 1911 by Prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino — a Romanian aristocrat known as “The Nabob” for his immense wealth — the castle is a stunning example of Neo-Romanian architecture.

Inside, guests can admire original stained glass, carved wood staircases, and grand fireplaces, while outside, the vast gardens and terraces open to breathtaking mountain views.

Today, the castle is not only a heritage monument but also a cultural hub, hosting art exhibitions, concerts, and film shoots. (You may even recognize it from Netflix’s Wednesday series, where it appeared as Nevermore Academy!).
